This explains what we collect, why we have it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read, not to be got past.

Who we are

AAVATtype is responsible for the information described here. For any question or request, email hello@aavattype.com.

What we collect

We do not ask for your name, your date of birth, your location or any payment details on this page, and we do not collect special category information such as health data.

Why we have it

We do not use your information for anything else, and we do not build advertising profiles from it.

What allows us to hold it

Your consent, given when you tick the box and send us your address. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time and we will act on that promptly. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade or swap lists. We do not share your information with advertisers. We do not pass it to anyone except the service providers described below, who act on our instructions.

Cookies and tracking

This page sets no cookies. It runs no advertising pixels, no social tracking and no third-party marketing tool.

Our host, Cloudflare, adds one page-counting script called Web Analytics. It counts page views and records the country a visit came from, the kind of browser, the page that linked here and how quickly the page loaded. It uses no cookies, it does not follow you to other sites and it does not build a profile of you. What we see are totals. The script is served from static.cloudflareinsights.com, so loading a page here means your browser also contacts Cloudflare.

Nothing else here reaches another company. The typeface is served from this site rather than from a font provider.

Who else handles it

To store your address and send you messages we use service providers, and we may change which ones as the product is built. They act on our instructions and only for the purposes described here. Some of them may store data on servers outside Australia, and where that happens we take reasonable steps to see that it is handled to a standard comparable to the one set out on this page.

Your social media

We do not collect, store, share or sell information about other people's social media accounts.

We publish our own posts to our own accounts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube through a private scheduling tool, and we read the comments and statistics on those posts. Access to those accounts is held on our own equipment, never on this website, and it is removed when an account is disconnected.

If you comment on one of our posts, that comment lives on that platform under that platform's own terms, not here.

How long we keep it

We have not set a fixed retention period, because the product is still being built and we would rather not commit to a number we might not keep to. What is settled is this: if you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we will delete it. Otherwise we keep it while AAVATtype is being built and for as long as it is useful for the purposes described above, and we will not hold it indefinitely for no reason. When a retention period is set, this page will say what it is.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is perfect, and we will not claim otherwise. If something happens that puts your information at serious risk, we will tell you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.

What you can ask for

Email us and we will act on it within a reasonable time, and within any period the law sets. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to certain uses, to ask us to restrict them, or to receive your information in a portable form. Ask and we will help rather than making you prove a right first.

Automated processing

A profile is generated automatically from the answers you give. It produces a description of you and nothing more. It is not used to make any decision that has a legal effect on you or anything similarly significant, and it should never be used by anyone else to do so.

Children

AAVATtype is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.

Complaining about how we handle your information

If you think we have got something wrong with your information, tell us first and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can take it further. In Australia that is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. In the UK or the European Union it is your local data protection authority. You do not need our permission to go to them.

If this changes

We will update this page and the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you rather than relying on you noticing.
